Yet… there is comfort in Lamentations to be had. And strange as it sounds, this chapter is a song of redemption, though the suffering one here is not Yeshua, the Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53 – it is merely a man, even a prophet, born like every other man under the yoke of sin, knowing his God, knowing he has no other choice than to cry out to heaven even when heaven chooses for a season not to answer.

God our loving Abba will always meet us when we are returning to Him. It is His sincere desire for us to walk in truth and light. He will never leave us or forsake us. The question is whether our works will burn up as wood, hay and stubble, or if we will have gold, silver and precious gems. Let’s try for the good stuff so we can make a lovely crown to throw at His feet when we see Him face to face.
